extended bio

From her early steps at Berklee Valencia, Gÿe got interested in DJing as a way of expanding her holistic approach on music, taking club culture as the core space of her sound and craft. Learning from Nacho Marco, Gÿe’s DJing roots in house, deephouse and experimental/ambient. What started as a refinement of each genre, led her to develop specific skills of nyc’s ballroom music. she got her first ever debut record under Loudeast records ‘4AM’, a dark deep house fantasy about diversity, multicultural gods and fashion remixed by Nacho. Moving to Madrid, Gÿe got involved in the spanish ballroom scene that was lacking DJ figures. Shocked by the high complexity of the way balls develop, she deeply learned about the values of this culture stands for, and shaping virtuosistic mixing skills.

Gÿe’s modest presence in ballroom stills active today, travelling around the country, fostering the presence of more DJs in the scene and creating beats for the dolls, like ‘Personalidad, Control (a tribute to Leiomy)´ which her top track that has traveled across the globe. Meanwhile, she got into the house and clubbing scene, gigging all around the most important venues in Madrid, such as Joy Eslava, Sala El Sol, El Sótano and anonymous underground spaces. During this time, she also release MUV, an experimental, progressive voguing beat inspired by her own experience learning vogue and her intent on connecting it to her musical roots. Madrid was the training ground for what now she offers as a live singing, vocal looping DJ show.

After her time in Madrid, Gÿe moved to her current base, Mallorca. She introduced herself in the clubbing and live music scene, performing at many different festivals Garito, Es Jardí and nightclubs such BCM, s’Embat, Cova de s’Embat, AMÔK, Lío, amogst others. She grounded her musical new approaches through collaboration with the one and only Kiko Navarro and his label Afroterraneo, which was the perfect platform to release their first of many-to-come collaboration ‘Nanadi’, a hit banger afrohouse track that has travelled with Kiko around the world. Their collaboration comes from their common music inspirations they both have: two generations of pure artistry and love for music. She is now resident DJ at Es Molí, a place that she considers as her underground perfect home to keep pushing her own boundaries on selection and skills, introducing improvised live sets. Gÿe expands her DJ sets from old-school house and progessive, with a sweet harmonic taste to breaks, jersey club, jungle, techno and trance, but always having house, world and voice elements remaining as a core sense of rituality. Strongly connected to the queer and trans community, Gÿe feels DJing as a spiritual practice to connect and find her audience for what will be her original music in the upcoming future.
